Someone passed this on to me awhile back, but I can't remember who.
It turns out that this photo was used as the cover for the Japanese version of Pat's single, "Temporary Heroes," from her 1984 album Tropico. Here's the song, for the curious. No connection at all between its lyrics and the scarf Pat is wearing. Not that one would expect any.
Clearly, here, she is saluting the Palestinian cause, right? The US 12" single looks quite different.
